Volare Necesse Est - It's Necessary to Fly
(latin)

It really is, believe me

Ever since I was 11 years old I have had a "thing" for most flying things (except those that go "bzzzzzzz" and are equipped with a stinger). If you care to know more about how it started, read all about it here.
Today I am a holder of a JAR CPL with Night Qualification, Instrument Rating and ME/p rating (MEIRSP). ATPL theory and MCC course completed.

I have amassed some 1005 flying hours and roughly 160 of those in IR/IMC flight, 50 during night time, 37 in  ME/p and made some 2000 landings.

I have been flying to places abroad such as Amsterdam (Schiphol), Riga (Latvia), Oslo (Norway), Odense (Denmark) and Kuressaare (Ösel, Estonia). When I was on Iceland, I went for a spin there too logging 1,4 hours over the volcanic landscape surrounding Reykjavik! When in the U.S a flew a Boeing Stearman!

Type rating for the following aircraft are in my logbook...

  • Reims/Cessna C152
  • Reims/Cessna F172 "Reims Rocket"
  • Piper PA-28-161 Cadet
  • Piper PA-28-181 Archer II
  • Saab/MFI-15 200A Safari/Supporter
  • Beech D95A Travelair
  • Slingsby T67 M200 Firefly
  • Mooney M20J
...and I have also piloted the following types of aircraft

  • Zlin 242
  • American Champion Aircraft Super Decathlon
  • Saab 105 (SK-60)
  • Schweitzer/Hughes 300
  • Vans RV6
  • Diamond DA20 "C1-Eclipse"
  • Diamond DA40 TDI
  • Cirrus SR20
I have performed manouvers such as spin, looping, barrel roll, quick roll, straight roll, wingover, stall, dives etc...

On the more notable side I have done some formation flying incl. take off and landing in formation (also with a helicopter as buddy) and I have flown to/from a frozen lake (ice).
